NAMI’s “I Care” Signature Campaign
Stigma surrounding mental illness keeps people from getting treatment that fosters hope and leads to recovery. You can help the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Illinois fight stigma.
Your $10.00 donation* gives you the opportunity to:
- Receive the monthly NAMI Northern Illinois e-newsletter.
- Join hundreds of local residents whose names will appear in a full-page ad in the Rockford Register Star on Oct. 1, 2017, during Mental Illness Awareness Week.
- Be listed on the “I Care About Someone” banner, which will be featured at a public rally during Awareness Week, Oct. 1-7.
The newspaper advertisement will read:
I care about someone who lives with a mental illness. Chances are, you do, too.
One in five Americans will experience a mental illness in his or her lifetime. That’s a lot of us!
Together we can fight the stigma that too often keeps people from getting help.
Let’s stand up for the people we care about.
*Your donation will help pay for the advertisement. NAMI members can be included in the ad at no charge. **Address, email, and phone number will not be published or shared.
