NAMI Provider Education

What is Provider Education?

NAMI Provider Education introduces mental health professionals to the unique perspectives of individuals living with mental illness and their families. You’ll develop enhanced empathy for their daily challenges and recognize the importance of including them in all aspects of the treatment process.

The primary goal of this program is to promote collaboration between the client, the family and the health care staff. Having everyone engaged in the recovery progress facilitates better outcomes.

NAMI Provider Education is a free program, 4 hours of in-service training, taught by a team consisting of an adult with mental illness, a family member and a mental health professional.

What You’ll Gain

  • Understanding of the realities of living with mental illness
  • Increased compassion for the vulnerabilities people face when seeking care
  • Recognition of your critical role in the individual and family’s journey towards recovery
  • Empowered view of the lasting impact your care makes
